Training & Leasing

At Freedom Acres Farms LLC, we understand that every rider and horse is unique. That's why we take a personalized approach to our services. We work with you to create a customized plan that meets your specific needs and goals. Whether you are looking for a refresher, fine tuning, restarting or exercising we will tailor our services to fit your needs. We place an emphasis on natural horsemanship and work with out clients to develop a foundation in multiple disciplines included equitation, wester pleasure, trail and hunter jumper. Training packages are available  ranging from 30, 60 and 90 days.

 

We build upon our collective 30+ years of experience working with horses of all types and backgrounds in order to tailor a program to suit you and your horse's needs. Clients will work hands on with our trainers to build their skills as well to maintain progress after training. Natural Horsemanship is highly emphasized as we believe the best partnerships start from a foundation of compassionate understanding and a desire to grow as equestrians.

Leasing

**Freedom Acres Farms LLC offers leasing services on a case by case basis entirely at the discretion of the barn owner and barn manager. Leasing policies and procedures are to be adhered to at all times to remain eligible for the leasing program.***

What we offer:

Leasing is offered to riders of intermediate and advanced skill levels monthly. Horses utilized in our lesson program and trail riding program are available for lease to select students.

Leasing fees will correspond to the goals/intentions of the rider.

  • For onsite riding and casual trail riding, leasing is available at $250 monthly.

  • For offsite riding, competitive showing, extensive trail riding: leasing is available at $400 monthly.

  • Your monthly fees correspond directly to the increased level of care that will be required by the horses per their involvement in the leasing program. This includes but is not limited to veterinary care, farrier work, feed and housing etc.

Lease Policies:

  • Leasing allows participants to come freely during barn hours to care for, ride, and spend time with the horses in our program.

  • Lessees are required to participate in one lesson per month with Charlie, to ensure the horses are being ridden and cared for based on Freedom Acres Farms LLC standards.

  • Horses are available on a first come first served basis; all leasing horses are utilized for lessons and trail rides first and foremost. When not being utilized for business reasons; lease horses are free to be used by lease participants during business hours.

  • The following horses currently participate in the leasing program:

    • Archer: 3-year-old 15.3 hh OTTB colt- Western/ English beginner safe- No limitations.

    • Ginny: 8-year-old 16hh OTTB mare- Western/English beginner safe with trainer or intermediate. Primarily flatwork.

    • Luna: 3-year-old 16hh OTTB mare- Western/English beginner safe FLATWORK only

    • Chance: 6-year-old 17hh OTTB gelding. Western/English beginner safe FLATWORK ONLY

    • Mikko: 6-year-old 17hh OTTB gelding-advanced beginner/Intermediate safe. English/Western. No limitations.

    • Bonnie: 11-year-old 16hh OTTB mare- advanced beginner/Intermediate safe. English/Western. No limitations.

    • Cheyanne: 18-year-old 16.3hh OTTB mare-ADVANCED ONLY, English/Western. No limitations.

  • For any offsite events, participants are required to give two weeks advance notice of their intent to participate in any shows, competitions, training, etc. The final approval is always at the discretion of the barn owner and manager.

  • Transportation to and from shows and events can be accommodated with prior notice. If barn owner/manager is also participating in the event, transportation will be provided at no extra cost.

    • Freedom Acres Farms LLC can accommodate transportation to and from additional events where lessee is exclusively participating for a $50/event fee.

    • Horses will not be transported by anyone other than barn owner or manager under any circumstances unless given written permission by owner/manager.

 

  • Leasing participants are welcome to come and go as they please during regular business hours but required to adhere to all Freedom Acres Farms LLC lessons, training, and leasing policies.

  • Freedom Acres Farms LLC reserves the right to exclusively train any horses participating in the leasing program. Requests for offsite trainers, classes, or workshop participation will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Freedom Acres Farms LLC has designed a strict feeding program for all horses onsite. Lessees must adhere to this program at all times.

    • Do not purchase treats, snacks, feed, etc for the horses without consulting the barn owner/manager first.

  • Tack is provided to lessees provided that it is not damaged, misused, or misplaced. Any damage to tack must be reported to the owner/manager as soon as it occurs. Lost or damaged tack will be replaced by the lessee.

    • Lessees are allowed to utilize personal tack and gear under the approval of the barn owner/manager.

    • Personal tack and gear can be kept onsite on a first come first served, space available basis. Please label any and all personal belongings, gear, tack etc that you intend to keep onsite.

    • DO NOT use anyone else’s tack, gear, personal belongings for any reason without express permission from the owner of that equipment.

  • Leasers ONLY are approved to ride the leasing horses unless prior permission is given by the owners at Freedom Acres Farms LLC.

    • Children may ride only with prior permission, only the horses deemed beginner safe, and only on a lead rope with adult supervision.
